Welcome Resisters✊

We have embarked on a journey most of us never signed up for. We need, now more than ever, to find our people. We will have to lean on each other for emotional support, reassuring one another that we aren’t crazy. This is happening. It is bad. It can be fixed.

This space was born out of the desire to connect Floridians to other like-minded residents. So with that in mind, I’d like to tell you a little about myself.

Born and raised in Texas, I spent my life living in a very liberal city in the middle of a very conservative state. I was born on the cusp of Cancer and Leo. I love rules and always find an exception to them. I moved a lot. Never had much money. Struggled through raising a family while working my ass off as a waitress and bartender. I loved the service industry but it takes a toll on the body and soul after a while.

My partner and I moved to Florida a couple of years ago to be closer to his family. After the job market here kicked us in the teeth we went all-in on a Franchise and have slowly but surely started building what we hope will be a successful business. With that comes a responsibility to our community.

After the impossible happened for a second time, I realized that this go-‘round would be different. More dangerous. I Googled “Democratic groups near me” and immediately signed up for 3. Committing to meetings and fundraising and planning isn’t for everyone so I decided to build this site so that folks can find other Dems, activists or RINO’s as well as easy ways to participate in defending democracy.
